I have and am looking for information on the descendants of Samuel Bent, born March 1, 1739 in Milton, Massachusetts, died July 1, 1827 in Granville, Nova Scotia. My references are The History of Annapolis County by Calnek and The Bent Family in America by Allen H. Bent. (Yes I have Access to both books) Unfortunately Allen H. Bent used Calnek's information (with the exception of Samuel's birth date and ancestry) so My information is limited. I am descended from Samuel's second son by the name of James whom neither Calnek or Allen H. Bent had in their records. With the help of Jeanetta Dexter, a well known genealogist in Annapolis County, and my late uncle, Murray Bent, I was able to make the connections between myself and Samuel. Jeanetta got the correct birth dates of Samuel's children from the Granville Township records. Murray had been doing the family history and handed it over to me several years ago. One of his connections found James's children and birth dates at The Public Archives in Halifax.
Currently I have over two thousand names in the Bent database. I have added a page of names in alphabetical order with dates and spouses.
