KINGS COUNTY MUNICIPAL DOG TAGS
It is
required by the
Municipality of Kings Dog
bylaw to register your dog and have the tag on
the dog at all times. Dog tags provide
an identification number for your dog that is used to trace your dog back to
you if he/she is lost. The fees for dog tags for residents of Kings County are
as follows:
$10.00 for each dog that is spayed or neutered
$30.00 for each dog that is not
spayed or neutered
$50.00 for Kennels
What is a Kennel?
A kennel is any premises where dogs are harboured or bred as a commercial
service or for sport or exhibition purposes for periods longer than 60 days.

Towns of
Berwick, Kentville, and Wolfville must register their dogs at the local town
halls. It only takes a minute to
register your dog. If you haven't already, register your dog ASAP.

Section 16(b)
Dog owners who fail to register their dogs and
keep tags on their dog are liable on summary convictions to fines of not less
than One Hundred dollars ($100.00) and not more than Five Thousand dollars
($5,000.00)
Convictions on these summary offences
may prevent owners from renewing their drivers license and vehicle registration
if the fines are not paid.
There is no excuse.
All dogs, small indoor dogs, outside
dogs, kennel dogs, chained dogs, farm dogs--all dogs--are required to have a
current 2006 Kings County TAG, and be wearing it.
